DOROTHY DALE MATEJOWSKY MANN, 76, walked peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by her family on, September 30, 2016. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend to many and was an angel to all who knew her. Dorothy was born, on September 21, 1940 in Lubbock, Texas to Florence and Harold Matejowsky. She married Bradley Mann on September 26, 1959. Together they raised 3 children and were blessed with 5 grandchildren. Dorothy spent her career as a secretary and volunteered her time in various areas to help her family and her community. She and Bradley spent several years in the Hill Country, after retirement. They were the first Grandparents in a program started at the Hill Country Youth Ranch, in Leakey, for abused and abandoned children. They also worked part-time at Serenity House, Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center, in Fredericksburg, before moving to Bellville in 2006. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Harold Matejowsky, her mother, Florence McCowen Matejowsky, her step mother, Lila Matejowsky, her brother, John Harold Matejowsky. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bradley Mann; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Carolyn Matejowsky of Brenham, TX; son, Dennis Mann of Hillsboro, TX, daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and John May of Houston, TX, daughter, Suzanne Shackelford of Longview, TX, grandchildren, Megan and Nathan Palmer of Temple, TX, Jackson May of Houston, TX, Hannah Shackelford of Longview, TX, Emily Shackelford of Longview, TX, Hunter Hudgens of Lorena, TX and nieces and nephews and other dear family.
