Donald Robert Rooth

September 26, 1958 — September 7, 2016

Donald Robert Rooth, 57, of Bellville, Texas passed away on September 7, 2016 at his residence. He was born to Robert and Stella (Floyd) Rooth on September 26, 1958 in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he grew up. After finishing high school he attended and graduated from Okmulgee University with a degree in diesel mechanics. Upon graduation, Donald worked in the oil field, until he decided to follow his brothers'' footsteps in joining the Harris County Sheriff''s department. Donald served as a Harris County Sheriff''s Department Deputy for over 23 years before retiring. His brothers and sisters in Blue meant the world to him and he took great pride in serving as a peace officer. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Harris County Lodge #39, as well as the Harris County Sheriff''s Office Deputies Organization. Donald was reunited in marriage to Mary DiStefano at the All Around Cowboy Church in Sealy, Texas where they made their home. Donald never met a stranger and was an avid history buff.
