Teddy Leon Jones

TEDDY LEON JONES, SR., 82, formally of San Antonio, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, in Sealy, Texas. He was born March 9, 1934, in Jefferson, Texas, the son of Worthie T. and Annie Elizabeth (Burk) Jones. Teddy spent his early years in Sandia, later moving to San Antonio at the age of six. He was united in marriage to Jewel Elizabeth Fortner, on June 6, 1954. Teddy was employed as an Insulator for a commercial construction company. He was a member of the Local 87 Insulators Union, serving as President for several years. In his past time, Teddy enjoyed working on cars and driving race cars. Teddy is survived by his daughters: Marlene Elizabeth Jones Payne and her husband, Daniel, of League City, and Ava Norene Jones Botello and her husband, Frank, of San Antonio; son: Teddy Leon Jones, Jr. of Austin; grandchildren: Randy Roamell, Jr., Annie Longley, William Longley, Alane Brooks and her husband Rob, Julie Dornbusch, Madison Jones and Spencer Jones; and great grandchildren: Aubrie Dornbush, Tyler Brooks and Teagan Jones. He is also survived by his sister: Ava Gerrans of California and sister-in-law: Pat Jones of San Marcos. Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jewel Jones, and brother, Tilden Jones. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the charity of their choice.
