Gloria Fogg Lane, 90, longtime resident of East Bernard, Texas, passed away Tuesday April 26, 2016. Gloria was born July 24, 1925, in Waelder, Texas. She grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. She met her one true love Richard, and in 1943 she boarded a train and, as a very young girl of 18, went out to San Diego where he was stationed with the US Navy. They were married on September 4, 1943. The newlywed couple returned to Rosenberg, Texas, to start their family. In 1953 after the birth of their first 2 daughters they moved to East Bernard, Texas, where Gloria made a beautiful home and lifelong friendships. She retired from the East Bernard Independent School District, and was an active member of the East Bernard United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed the Adult Sunday School. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Obadiah Gibson and Ruby Sellers Fogg and three brothers, Bennie, Douglas and Richard. Her beloved husband of 70 years died in 2013. Left to cherish her memory is her daughters Patricia Knapp (Tommy), Vickie Wright (Russell) and Donna Huestis (Bruce Permenter) as well as her son-in-laws Walter Joe Mangum, and Charles Huestis. Her daughters and sons-in-law blessed her with six Grandchildren: Lane (Shebra) and Beth Mangum; Valerie and Alex Wright; Cameron (Tanya) and Adam Huestis; along with Great Grandchildren Nick, Taylor, Emily and Austin Mangum; Colten, Trent, Michael, and Danielle Hays and Gavin Huestis. Great-great Grandchildren Presley Partridge; Drake and Hunter Hays. She is also survived by her nephew Bryan (Cindy) Lane and niece Deborah (Bruce) Wolbrette. She is survived by her Aunt Fannie Mae (107) and her brother in law & sister in law James B. and Geneva Lane. The Family gratefully acknowledges and thanks Lakeasha Taylor for her loving care and devotion for Gloria and our entire family. Pallbearers will be Gloria''s six Grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are the wonderful neighbors and friends of more than 50 years. Reception will immediately follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
