Constance "Connie" Turner

CONSTANCE "CONNIE" COOPER TURNER, 90, of Brookshire, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Katy, Texas. She was born April 3, 1926, in Brookshire, Texas, the daughter of Hope David and Frankie Dee (Muske) Cooper. She grew up and attended schools in the Brookshire area, graduating from Katy High School. Connie earned her Teaching Degree from the University of Houston. On September 7, 1947, Connie married Edmund Doyle "Dusty" Turner, at the First United Methodist Church in Brookshire. They made their home in Pattison, where they raised their six children. They were married for over 66 years. Connie was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Brookshire. She served many years on various school committees, including the athletic booster club, the FFA parade committee and the band booster club. Connie was also a member of the AARP group in Brookshire and loved to travel with them when she was able. Connie loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her past time, she enjoyed reading. She is survived by her children: Bruce Turner and his wife, Lynn, Jill Rogers and her husband Dr. John Rogers, Barry Turner and his wife, Jo Dee, Paul Turner and his wife, Deborah, Sally Hakemack and her husband, Tom and Kent Turner and his wife, Connie; grandchildren: Sharon Rushworth and her husband, Gary, Becky Payne and her husband, Clayton, Shelley Boozer and her husband, Paul, Dr. Kristen Rogers, Ashley Toler and her husband, Matthew, Jaydee Foster and her husband, Lance, Travis Hakemack, Anna Vance and her husband Aaron, David "DJ" Turner and Brian Turner. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Cooper Owen, Ashlyn Rushworth, Riley Boozer, Thatcher Payne, Luke Payne, Tate Hakemack, Adam Vance, Austin Vance, Ace Vance and Avery Vance. Connie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, "Dusty." Memorial may be made to: First United Methodist Church, P.O.
