Frances Pauline McLemore Beams, aged 81, Beloved Mother of Robin Beams Aguirre and Devoted Wife of Ross E. Beams, Jr., passed peacefully into Heaven on Monday, April 18, 2016, at Avalon Memory Care, Cedar Park, Texas. She was born in Sulligent, Alabama on March 14, 1935 where she grew up with eight much loved brothers, sisters and parents, Paul and Mary Jewel McLemore. She married Ross Earl Beams, Jr. on September 23, 1955, and had one child, Robin. They were married for 58 years. They moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1959. She lived most of her life in Corpus Christi, Texas and Brookshire, Texas. Frances began attending Del Mar College in 1965; she finished her college education receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Art at Pan American College (University of Texas-Pan American), Edinburg, Texas in May, 1969. She was the first in her family to receive a college degree. Frances taught Art at Richard King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas and then in Katy, Texas, when they moved to Brookshire, Texas. After 24 years of teaching, Frances retired in 2002. In 1978, she and Ross bought The City Cafe in Brookshire, Texas. For 20 years, they served good old fashioned country food to many good friends and customers. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brookshire, Texas and enjoyed the fellowship of friends in Christ there. Frances loved the many dolls son-in-law Richard brought her from all over the world on his trips. Frances enjoyed spending time with the Brookshire-Pattison Library Ladies - they always shared books she loved to read. She also loved to cook, garden, dance, sketch, watch TV and walk with her beloved dogs - Daisy, Belle, and Lady. Frances was preceded in death by husband, Ross E. Beams, Jr., parents, Paul and Mary Jewel McLemore, and 3 brothers, Tommie McLemore, Frankie McLemore and Buster McLemore. Her surviving siblings are brother, Butch (Bokie) McLemore, Orlando, FL, sisters, Evelyn Barnes, Fulton, MS, Eva (J.L.) Valentyn, Tuscaloosa, AL, Jewel (Ron) Bohn, Ocala, FL, and Sherry (Keith) Craig, Olney IL. Frances is survived by her daughter, Robin Beams Aguirre, and her husband, Richard Aguirre; two grandchildren, Melissa M. Aguirre and Richard M. Aguirre; and one great-grandchild, Tristan Kerrick.
