Douglas Madison Falk

DOUGLAS MADISON FALK, JR., 70, of Bellville, Texas, who loved to be called Papa, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, in Bellville, Texas.

Douglas was born June 3, 1945, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Douglas Madison Falk, Sr. and Marguerite Louise (Woodruff) Falk. He grew up in Louisiana and Texas. Moving from Alexandria to Sealy, then to Katy and making his way to Bellville in 1958, he attended school in Cochran and Bellville High School.

Douglas married Deborah June Mann, on June 13, 1970, in the house of his beloved bride's grandparents in Houston, Texas.

He was very active for many years in the Austin County Fair, where he served as an Austin County Fair Association Board Member, on the Swine Committee and the Auction Committee. He was an employee with the Austin County PCT 1 Road and Bridge Repair Division.

Douglas had numerous hobbies included cooking BBQ gravy with his buddies, spending time in Sargent, entering cook-offs with the Rebel Cookers, and his cattle. He loved judging BBQ cook-offs, Cajun music, crawfish, and just hanging out under the pecan trees. While indoors, Douglas loved watching football, especially LSU Tigers, Shelby on the history channel and old western movies.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah June and his parents.

Douglas is survived by his SON: Dusty Falk (Dana Baker) of Bellville; DAUGHTERS: Dana Falk Speckmaier and her husband, Joe, of Wallis, and Julie Anne Falk of Bellville; GRANDDAUGHTERS: Madison Falk (Aaron Alvarez), Katie Falk, Saley June Speckmaier and Kortney Falk; SISTER: Jane Neutzler and her husband, Glenn, of Brenham; NEPHEWS: Cody Neutzler, and Kyle Neutzler and his wife, Sarah, all of Brenham; GREAT NIECES: Kaitlyn Lewis and Emma Jane Neutzler; and numerous dear friends, and his beloved and faithful dog, Maddie.
