Allen was united in marriage to Cynthia Baggett on August 24, 1985, in Houston, Texas. He was employed as a Junior High School Science teacher before becoming a Personnel Officer and Trainer with the State of Texas . Allen lived a full life and had many interests. He and Cynthia found their way into the antiques business and so moved to Bellville to be closer to the show they participated in at Round Top. Allen had already been a world traveler; together they hunted antiques in the US and then in Paris and The Netherlands. They always enjoyed the historical sights especially art museums. Allen also enjoyed gourmet cooking, growing his own vegetables, his many cats and together they were political junkies. He is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Cynthia Scott of Bellville; his sister, Linda Brougher, his nephew, Branden Thompson and his wife and three daughters, all of Jacksboro; and his loving cousins-in-law: Patti and Emory Estes and Terry Valentine and their children. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Dorothy Scott and his step-son, Josh Freeborn who always called him "Mikey" because he would eat anything! The family wishes to thank all the people who supported them during Allen's long illness: Dr. Bosse and Mia Williams; all of the excellent nurses and the PT's in the community, his two loving caregivers and the professionals at Compassionate Care Hospice.
