MARY JEANETTE BUCKMASTER LOSE, 84, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015, in College Station, Texas. Mary was born February 21, 1931, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of James and Mabel Fritchle Buckmaster. She grew up and attended schools in Ottumwa before moving to San Angelo, Texas, in 1940. Mary moved to the Fort Worth area a few years later, where she met W.S. "Bill" Lose during her senior year at Handley High School in Fort Worth. She and Bill married in 1950 in Fort Worth. Mary went on to attend North Texas Agricultural College after high school, where she earned her associate''s degree in teaching. She then continued her education at Texas Christian University, graduating in 1961 with a bachelor''s degree. In 1961, Mary and Bill served as Lutheran lay missionaries in Papua, New Guinea until 1967. They returned to the United States and adopted their son, John Lose. In 1968, they adopted their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Huckabee. Mary taught school in Fort Worth and Houston. The family moved to Bellville in 1977, where she was a special education teacher at Bellville High School and also taught reading at Bellville Junior High School for many years. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed reading and gardening. Mary is survived by her CHILDREN: Beth Cray and her husband, Marc, of Sugar Land, and John Lose of Dallas, Texas; GRANDCHILDREN: Brittanii Huckabee and Ryan Tull, Caylii Huckabee, Conrad Huckabee, and Kendall Cray, all of Sugar Land. She is also survived by her BROTHER: James Cuddy Buckmaster and his wife, Thea, of Katy. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lose, and parents, James and Mabel Buckmaster.
