Earl Jackson Mcmurrey

EARL JACKSON MCMURREY, 88, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015, in Brenham , Texas. He was born July 2, 1927, in Hallettsville, Texas, the son of Marion Jackson and Neoma Pearl Yeater McMurrey. His childhood was in Ezzell, Texas and attended schools in the Houston area. In August of 1945, he enlisted in the United States Navy, during WWII, and was Honorably Discharged the following October. Earl was united in marriage to Duevirne Moore, in Houston, Texas, on June 16, 1951. Earl started as an Electrical Salesperson, becoming the owner of Electrical Controller Products in Houston. Earl was a member of the Cat Spring Volunteer Fire Department, Houston Electrical League and the Stephen F. Austin Country Club. He enjoyed playing golf and polka dancing and was a member the Top Cats Dance Club. Earl is survived by his companion, Gladys Lueckemeyer; son, Mike McMurrey and his wife, Lou Ann; grandchildren, Ryan McMurrey and his wife, Leslie, Melanie Jackson and her husband, Justin, James Wielkens, Jennifer Wielkens and Les Wielkens and his wife, Melaine. He is also survived by his 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion J. and Oma P. McMurrey, wife, Duevirne sister, Norene, brothers, Clifton, Bennett, Morris, Willard and Raymond, step-sons, Richard H. Wielkens and Alan Wielkens and grandson, Richard A. Wielkens.
