Charles Evans "Chuck" Hughes

CHARLES EVANS "CHUCK" HUGHES, 74, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015, in Bellville. He was born July 11, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Charles Evans, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Carr Hughes. Chuck grew up and attended schools in Pittsburgh, graduating from Taylor-Allderdice High School. After high school, he attended Duquesne University. Charles served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After the service, he returned to Duquesne University to finish earning his Bachelor Degree in Physics. Chuck was united in marriage to Celia Gage on July 25, 1971, in Webster, Texas, in the Webster Presbyterian Church. They made their home in Bellville, where he was employed with Reading and Bates Drilling Company, as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Chuck enjoyed electronics, hydroponics and robotics. He is survived by his WIFE: Celia Hughes of Bellville; CHILDREN: Charles Steven Hughes of Round Rock, Holly Garrison and her husband, Bobby, of Oakdale, CA and Robert E. Hughes and his wife, Bethany, of Bellville; SISTERS: Bonny Hughes of Greenbackville, VA and Linda Martin and her husband, Nick, of Belle Vernon, PA. Chuck is also survived by his GRANDCHILDREN: Hannah Elizabeth Garrison, Donnie Wayne Hughes, Robert Lee Garrison, Zoe Elisa Hughes, Harley David Hughes, Abigail Lissette Hughes, Skilynn Alyza Hughes, Emily Elizabeth Hughes, Joshua Evans Hughes and Matthew Charles Garrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chook and Betty Hughes. Pallbearers are Burl Sampson, Tom Gage, Chris Kaase, Chris Gordon, Terry Suprean and Mike Moore. Honorary Pallbearers are Dean Harper, Robby Osborn, Jack Kovar, Dave Toalson, Doug Warner, Art Girts, Dale Gorgon and Ben Whitehead.
