Dean Ray Walker

Dean was born December 10, 1968, in Houston, Texas. The son of Donald and Alinda Guillory Walker, he grew up in Houston and Pasadena. He graduated from Kingwood High School in 1987. He then served his country in the United States Marine Corps and the Army Reserve from 1988 - 1995. During his time in the Marine Corps, Dean was deployed to Iraq during Operation Desert Shield. After his honorable discharge, Dean attended George Wallace College in Alabama where he earned his degree in Applied Science in Automotive Technology. Dean was employed by Firestone for many years before becoming an Auto Mechanics Teacher at Cy-Ridge High School in Cypress. He was a great motivator for his students. He enjoyed working on car and golfing, but above all else, Dean was a devoted family man. He loved his two sons, Tyler and Austin, and treasured the time he was able to spend with them. Dean leaves behind his wife: Paula Walker of Katy; his beloved sons: Tyler Walker and Austin Walker, both of Cypress; his stepsons: Adrian Lopez and Stephen Brown, both of Katy; his step-daughter: Marina Lopez of Nacogdoches; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandmother Jeannette. Family will be present to receive friends from 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Brookshire, where Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. with Elder Forrest Davis, Sr. officiating. Graveside Service will follow at 1:45 P.M. at the Houston National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adrian Lopez, Stephen Brown, Tyler Walker, Austin Walker, George Gutierrez, Michael Aguilar and Luke Zins.
