Upon graduation, he attended Ball State University with the intent of becoming a band director. Deciding that it wasn''t for him, he chose to enlist in the Air Force and was soon sent to Texas. He soon wound up at Bryan Air Force Base, where he met "Millie" whom he married on May 5, 1956. Roy worked at Texas A & M University''s Printing Center for over 30 years. After his retirement he spent many hours fishing at Riverside and going to garage sales with Millie. He was an avid reader, a professional photographer, and had a great love for music, particularly classical and jazz. After Millie died in 2003 and his health declined, Roy eventually moved to Bellville for his last eight years. The family wishes to publicly thank all those who helped care for Roy in his infirm years: Josie, Bluebonnet House of College Station, Arbors of Briarwood and Colonial Belle Nursing Home of Bellville, Dr. Don Bosse, the Compassionate Care Hospice and the many nurses and aides who sought to give him the best care possible.
