Linda Price Candelari

LINDA (PRICE) CANDELARI passed away at her home in Boerne, TX, Friday, June 12, 2015 at 2:37 PM. She was born on October 17, 1957 in Odessa, TX to Robert Allan Price and Deloris (Brooks) Price. Linda graduated from Bellville High School in 1975 and attended Blinn College in Brenham, TX. Linda married Gene Candelari on May 2, 1981, in Houston, Texas. Ms. Candelari served as the Administrator of Programs for Great Basin Primary Care Association a non-profit organization in Nevada. Before this position, Linda served as Program Director for AccessHealth Las Vegas and supervised the project through expansion and sustainability for three years. As Director, Linda built the program to serve, over 15,000 medically uninsured, and raised over $550,000 per year for the Susan G. Koman Foundation, to directly serve uninsured breast cancer patients. She served with Great Basin Primary Care Association from 2003 - 2010 in several capacities including Community Development Associate, Coordinator for the Public Health Preparedness Project and Events Coordinator. GBPCA hosted several major events for which Linda served as coordinator including a biannual Access to Care Symposium bringing into dialogue safety-net organizations and agencies from across the state and Safety-net Provider Days which facilitates education and advocacy with the Nevada Legislators. Prior to joining GBPAC, Ms. Candelari held management positions while developing, managing, and operating many diverse businesses including several requiring public relations and planning of public events. She was a licensed Realtor with high achievements in marketing. Linda is survived by her husband of 35 years, Gene Candelari and her two sons, Chris and Steven; mother Deloris Huffman and husband, Jerry of Boerne, TX; her sister Carla Price, brother, Larry Price and his wife, Michelle all of San Antonio; her uncle Hilton Brooks; aunt, Virginia Chorack, all of Boerne TX; aunt and uncle, Larry and Diana Roderick of College Station, TX; and numerous cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
