HELEN ROSALIE (SHELTON) VANSANDT, 101, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, in Bellville. She was born April 20, 1914, in Wellington, Kansas, the daughter of Toby and Bertha (Meeker) Shelton. Helen grew up and attended schools in Kansas. She was united in marriage to Bill VanSandt, on November 3, 1934. Helen and Bill moved to Texas in 1948. At the age of 54, Helen attended Blinn College of Vocational Nursing and obtained her LVN License, graduating on September 10, 1968. She was a dedicated clinic nurse for Dr. Fuller, at the Bellville Clinic and was an attending nurse for the residents at Sweetbriar and Colonial Belle Nursing Homes and the Bellville General Hospital. Helen had tremendous craftsmanship, she enjoyed all kinds of crafts, Christmas decorations and crocheting. You may not have known her as an actress, or song and dance performer with Aunt Bertha and Uncle Toby Medicine Show, or "straight man" for the comedy team The Vans. She was all of these things and more when she spread love and joy wherever she was for over ONE HUNDRED YEARS. Helen is survived by her DAUGHTERS: Donna Williamson and her husband, Kenneth, of Bellville and Dinah Dittert of Katy; GRANDCHILDREN: Tracy, Di, Jo, Chris and Van; and GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Alie, Greg, Sara, Megan, Brandy, Carly, Chandler, Gaston, Carmen and Jake. She is also survived by her THREE GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Toby and Bertha Shelton, husband, Bill VanSandt, grandson, Curt Williamson, and son-in-law, Judge, J. Lee Dittert, Jr.
