Elizabeth J. Bajew was born on May 20, 1933, in Moline, Kansas, to Paul Welch and Grace Fleming-Welch. She graduated high school from Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita, Kansas. After high school, Elizabeth served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1956. While stationed in Liverpool, England, she met and married Eugene Bajew; the two were married for 37 years and had three children - Andre, Nick and Katch. Elizabeth served in civil service for over 20 years, including acting as assistant to a five star general in the United States Army. Elizabeth's service and dedication earned her several awards, including the Civilian Superior Service Award. Elizabeth was a woman of great faith who loved her family dearly and enjoyed writing, particularly poetry. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, as well as nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Andre and Teresa Bajew, Nick Bajew and Diane Lopez, and Katch Bajew. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel Bajew, Brian Bajew, Allie Bajew, Lance Hartman, Andrew Bajew, Elizabeth Lieber, and Tyler Hartman.
