BETTY JEAN KELLY WADE was born in Houston, Texas, September 18, 1920 to Mary Elizabeth Maude McDonald Kelly and Charles Herbert Kelly. She was raised in a loving Christian household and learned early the meaning of serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She worked as a legal secretary until marrying James Henry Wade, of Fulshear, on September 10, 1948. Together in the tiny town of Fulshear, they raised two daughters in a loving Christian home, attending church on a regular basis, teaching Sunday School, and working as a room mother for both daughters. Her life revolved around her family, and her greatest goal was to teach them of Jehovah, GOD Almighty, and His Ways, and of Jesus Christ our Savior and of the Holy Spirit our Helper; a legacy passed on from her mother. Many have gathered in her home for meals and a place to spend the night. She also loved all her nieces and nephews tremendously, along with the youngsters from the neighborhood. One scripture comes to mind, reminding me of her and the lesson she taught: JOHN 6:29; Jesus answered, "What God wants you to do is to believe in the One He sent." She maintained this attitude of thought and belief in our home, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, our Risen Lord and Savior and this was respected by those that entered through her door. She presented herself as a lady, a child of God, and was willing to help anyone in need. She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Herbert, Mildred Kelly Upton, Roy, Ethyl Kelly Davis, Dorothy Kelly Harrell, husband James Henry Wade and daughter Peggy Ann Wade-Thurn Valsassina. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Jean Wade-Janik and son-in-law Delbert Ray Janik (whom she adored and loved like a son), grandchildren James Wade Foy and David Wade Thurn Valsassina, great grandchildren Conner Wade Foy and Camryn Jean Foy, along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, special ladies Sandra Schumacher and Lynn Munn, her long time Canasta Club ladies and many loving friends.
