Helen L Kluna

HELEN L. (KOEHNE) KLUNA, 80, of Cat Spring, Texas passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, in Bryan, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. Helen was born September 20, 1934, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Walter Frank and Lela Mae (Hopper) Koehne. She grew up in Houston graduating from Milby High School. Helen obtained her certificate and became a deputy for the Austin County Sheriff Office and then was employed as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Texas in Austin. On October 23, 1982, Helen was united in marriage with Al G. Kluna in Hempstead, Texas. They have made their home in Cat Spring. Helen was a longtime member of the American Business Women''s Association. She enjoyed needle point, bowling and fishing. She is survived by her HUSBAND: Al G. Kluna of Cat Spring; DAUGHTER: Deanna Louise Ling and husband, Neil, also of Cat Spring; SONS: Deacon Robert Kent and wife, Debbie, of Sealy, Bradley Kent and wife, Maggie, of Bellville, and Christopher L. Kent of Houston; 10 GRANDCHILDREN; 17 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; and many other relatives and dear friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Frank and Lela Mae Koehne, and her brother, William Koehne.
