Bessie G. Pearson

BESSIE G. BOWEN PEARSON, age 89, born December 16, 1924 and passed away November 7, 2014 in Prairie View, Texas due to a major vehicle accident involving her daughter. Bessie was born in La Copita, Texas to Earl and Nellie (Ratliff) Bowen, and she grew up in South Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma. Bessie and Floyd Pearson were married in Brooks County on August 12th. She was a proud homemaker, and her hobbies included quilting, fishing, crocheting, reading, cooking and she was an avid baseball fan. Her greatest joy in life was loving and spending time with her family. Survivors include: daughter, "Sissy" Merka and husband, Tom, of Hempstead, Texas; son, Wayne Pearson, and wife, Patricia, of Orange Grove, Texas; son, Bob Pearson, and wife, Barbara, of Harper, Texas; and son, Gary Pearson, and wife, Gail, of The Colony, Texas; brother, Francis Earl Bowen, Jr., and wife, Dorothy, of Falfurrias, Texas; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; and eight great great children. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; infant sister Darlene Bowen and sister Ruby Monse Bowen and; brothers, Robert "Bob" Bowen and Harold Bowen. Memorials made be made in Bessie's name to the charity of your choice.
