Ruby Virginia Stefka Stepan

RUBY VIRGINIA (STEFKA) STEPAN, 86, of Yoakum, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014, in a Shiner, Texas nursing facility. Ruby was born November 17, 1927, in Hempstead, Texas, the daughter of Delphine and Vlasta (Holik) Stefka. She grew up in Hempstead and attended school in Monaville. After graduating from Monaville High School, she attended business school in Houston. Ruby married Raymond J. Stepan on June 16, 1946, at the Nelsonville Brethren Church in Nelsonville, Texas. During her working years, Ruby was employed as an office stenographer. She enjoyed picking pecans, cooking, baking and helping her husband with the cattle. Ruby is survived by her HUSBAND: Raymond Joe Stepan of Yoakum; DAUGHTER: Mary Jane Alexander and her husband, Richard, also of Yoakum; GRANDCHILDREN: Ricky Alexander and Ryan Alexander; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Braden Alexander and Trace Alexander; SISTER: Opal Trent of Hempstead; and many other dear friends and relatives. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Ashley Bill, daughter, Donna Rae, and her brother, John Del Stefka.
