Betty E. Woods

October 23, 1934 — October 5, 2014

Betty Elliott Woods was born in Pawnee, Texas on October 23, 1934 to Killis and Doris Elliott. She walked with Jesus to heaven on October 5, 2014 at the wonderful age of 79. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, mentor and friend. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Lloyd, their children Gary, David, Laurie and Lezli, grandchildren Jason, Terra, Zach, Blake, Lance, Ross and David, her great grandchildren Riley, Shelby, Jacob and Brady, and many other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Killis and Doris, and siblings Jeannine, Norman, Herbert and Dotsy, and granddaughter Lindsey Woods, and her special companion, Abby. Betty grew up in Pawnee, Texas. In their early teen years, Lloyd and Betty met and lived in the same town never realizing they would meet again in adulthood, marry and live a long life together. Betty enjoyed gardening, loved flowers and always kept her yard immaculate. Thanksgiving and Christmas were always her favorite holidays. All family members reported, all hands on deck, each year until 2013 when she could no longer host her growing family. "Everything in its place and everything has a place" was her motto. She watched with great joy as all of her grandchildren grew up in Runge, Texas where she and Lloyd spent 13 amazing years. They relocated to Bryan in 2000 to be near their family. The family requests any donations or contributions be made in her name to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 190, Brookshire, TX 77423 or to the Aggieland Humane Society, 5359 Leonard Rd., Bryan, TX 77807. Special thank you to her caregivers and companions, Mary Moore, Tina Weido, Mandie Bauer and Esther Trejo.
