Helen C. Harwell

HELEN C. (POLASEK) HARWELL, 81, of Brookshire, Texas, passed away Sunday. August 31, 2014, in Houston, Texas. Helen was born September 14, 1932, in Hobson, Texas, the daughter of Casper and Doris (Lyssy) Polasek. She grew up in Hobson, Texas, and Karnes City, Texas, graduating from Karnes City High School. On January 28, 1961, Helen was united in marriage to J.L. "Buck" Harwell, in Seguin, Texas. She was employed with Lone Star Brewery, Miller Motor Company in Katy, and later went to work for Waller County Precinct 4, as the administrative assistant for Judges, Joe Pattison, Jim Koen and Ted Krenek, for 15+ years. Helen enjoyed sewing and bowling with family and friends. Helen is survived by her CHILDREN: Kathryn Wiley and her husband, Charles, of Katy, Gerald Harwell and his wife, Debbie, of New Ulm, and Jeff Harwell and his long-time companion, Wendi Stuart, of Brookshire; GRANDCHILDREN: Emily Wiley, Travis Wiley, and Erin Wiley, Dustin Harwell, Devin Harwell, Samantha Harwell, and Clayton Harwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. "Buck" Harwell, parents, Casper and Doris Polasek, brother, Casper "Sonny" Polasek, and sister Claire Marie Vajdos. Pallbearers are: Kenneth Berger, Buddy Peterek, Gerald "Piggy" Gassner, Randy Bludau, Richard Holderman and Guy Lusher. Honorary Pallbearers are: Bill Mathews, Charles Swize, Nelson Guillotte, Clyde Grimet and Ted Krenek.
