Inez Frank Davis

INEZ SYLVIA (FRANK) DAVIS was born March 25, 1927, in Bellville, Texas. The daughter of Ferdinand and Hattie (Abel) Frank, she was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville, where she was baptized on September 19, 1928, and confirmed on April 6, 1941. Inez graduated from Bellville High School and then worked as a secretary to the school superintendent. On March 2, 1946, Inez married B.B. Davis, Jr., at St. John Lutheran Church. Her time was then spent raising their 3 children. After the children went to school, Inez worked at Bracey''s Confectionery and Bus Stop in Bellville. In later years, she was employed at Harry''s Superette, where she enjoyed meeting people and working with Harry and Doris Wittneben. After Inez and B.B. retired, they traveled to numerous states attending the annual reunions of the World War II veterans B.B. served with. They also enjoyed camping and fishing together. Inez was an avid reader, which kept her mind sharp. She loved animals, especially dogs. Once, she adopted 2 baby squirrels which she bottle fed and carried in her housecoat pocket. Inez was the past president of both the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was known as "Mama" to her children, "Mam-ma" to grandchildren, and "Nezzie" to her great grandchildren. She treasured her family and there was nothing she would not do for them or her friends. Inez is survived by her daughter: Nancy Swearingen of Sealy; sons: Glenn Davis and Michael Davis and his wife, Anne, all of Bellville; grandchildren: Kevin and Chelsea Swearingen, Chad and Laura Swearingen and Marci and Butch Rabius; great grandchildren: Brandon Swearingen, Taylor Swearingen, Trevor Blankenship, Courtney Rabius, Rayann Rabius, Callen Rabius, Carson Hidalgo and Wesley Calvin Swearingen. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Marjorie Davis and Anne Frank. Inez was preceded in death by her parents, husband "B.B." Davis, brother, Wilfred Frank, son-in-law, Calvin Swearingen, brother-in-law, Boyce Davis and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gladys and Calvin Rinn. Pallbearers are her nephews: John Frank, Chuck Davis, Craig Davis, Chris Davis; grandsons: Kevin Swearingen, Chad Swearingen, Brandon Swearingen and Butch Rabius.
