DOROTHY MARIE LaCOMBE DEVANE, 70, of Luling, Texas, formerly of Brookshire, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in Luling. Dorothy was born November 4, 1943, in Hayes, Louisiana. The daughter of Artulas and Pauline Broussard LaCombe, she grew up and attended school in Hayes and Bell City in Louisiana. Dorothy married Robert "Sonny" Devane on October 16, 1961 in Orange, Texas. They made their home in Ruskin, Florida and Fort Worth, Texas before moving to Brookshire in 1977, where Dorothy was employed in housekeeping at Farmers State Bank. Sonny preceded her in death in 1989. Dorothy was a Certified Medical Assistant and enjoyed crocheting, crafts, sewing, needlepoint and embroidering. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family. She is survived by her DAUGHTERS: Denise Devane of Houston and Robin Davidson and her husband, David of Katy; SONS: Robert Devane and his wife, Elaine, of Luling, and Ben Devane and his wife, Meme, of Houston; GRANDCHILDREN: Matthew Devane and wife, Megan, Marie Mireles and husband, Kelsey, Marci Pence and husband, Brian, Melanie Rouse and husband, Christopher, Jennie Devane, Isabella Devane, Zachary Devane, Hunter Devane, Daphanie Watson Devane, Erin Devane; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Brock Pence, Beau Pence, Oliver Mireles, Olivia Mireles and Keira Ball. Dorothy is also survived by her SISTER: Maelena of Shreveport, Louisiana; SISTERS-IN-LAW: Janet Devane Gillebaard and Barbara Devane Harmon; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sonny, four brothers: Wilson, Willard, LeRoy, and Clyde and two sisters: Bell and Agnes.
