Patricia And John Woods

PATRICIA MAY (BEESLEY) WOODS, 84, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, in Bellville, Texas. She was born on August 21, 1929, in Prince George, BC, Canada, the daughter of William and Rene (Scherk) Beesley. Patricia grew up and attended schools in Canada. After high school, she attended St. Paul Hospital of Nursing, in British Columbia. Patricia was a nurse in the Northern Providence of Canada. JOHN WILLIAM "JACK" WOODS, 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in Bellville, Texas. He was born on March 14, 1927, in Houston, Texas, the son of Roy and Minnie (Finnegan) Woods. Jack grew up and attended schools in Houston. After high school, he became a student in college, before enlisting in the United States Navy, where he was aboard the USS Hornet. Patricia and Jack were united in marriage on April 1, 1955, in Hope, British Columbia. Jack was a longtime employee of Bechtel Company. He and Patricia lived in several places that his job took them. After retiring from Bechtel as a pipeline engineer, they made their home in a small cabin in Canada but traveled the world, including North America, before moving to Bellville, in 2007. Patricia enjoyed reading and crocheting. She was known for having many dogs throughout her life and loved each of them dearly, especially loved her dog, Brandi. Jack was more of an outdoorsman, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and football. He and Patricia loved spending time with family and friends. Patricia and Jack are survived by their 3 CHILDREN: Erin Young and her husband, Jim, of Denver, Colorado, Michael Woods of Sacramento, California, and Glenn Woods of Houston, Texas; 3 GRANDCHILDREN: Kathleen Woods, Sarah Young and Jenna Young. They are preceded in death by her parents, William and Rene Beesley, his parents, Roy and Minnie Woods and her brother, Bud. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the charity of their choice.
