SAMUEL RANDALL CLARK, 81, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in Houston, Texas. He was born on September 16, 1932, in Bellville, Texas, the son of Vernon and Katie (Spence) Clark. He grew up and attended schools in Bellville. Sam served his country in the United States Air Force and he was Honorably Discharged, in1953. Sam was united in marriage to Lillie Phelps on September 8, 1972, at the Austin County Courthouse, in Bellville on a Friday night, some say it was during the same time as the halftime show at the Bellville Brahma football game. They made their home in Houston. Sam was employed with Brown and Root, in Houston, serving in 29 different countries, retiring after 29 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to fish and hunt in Dryden, Texas, with his brother, Jack. Sam shared his birthday with Lillie, his sister-in-law, Nell, and his step great-grandson. Sam is survived by his LOVING WIFE OF OVER 41 YEARS: Lillie Clark of Houston, Texas; DAUGHTERS: Linda Diane Glasscock of Dallas, Texas, Catherine Clara Becker of Oklahoma, Joella Frances Stubbs of Dickinson, Texas and Doris Maxyne Sanford of Deer Park, Texas; 7 GRANDCHILDREN AND 5 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN; STEP SONS: Michael Barfield of Houston, Texas and Joe Vernon Barfield of Houston, Texas; STEP DAUGHTERS: Brenda Barfield of Huntsville, Texas and Joni Leader of Houston, Texas; 5 STEP GRANDCHILDREN AND 9 STEP GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN; and BROTHER: Jack Clark and his wife, Betty, of Halletsville, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Katie Clark, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
