Katherine Joy Schwecke Parker went to be with her Lord on January 1, 2014, in Brenham, Texas. Joy was born on November 13, 1926, in Houston, Texas, to Herbert and Katherine Von Thomasson Schwecke and attended Garden Villas Elementary, Austin High School, and the University of Houston. While working at the airport that became Hobby International, she met and married Robert Oran Parker. After living in Venezuela through the revolution of 1948, they made their home in Houston and then in Liberty County, Texas. Joy was an avid reader, pianist, and a meticulous seamstress, homemaker, and financial planner. She moved to Bellville in 1987, and quickly became active in the community. She was a founding member of St. Barnabas Reformed Episcopal (Anglican) Church. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, H.A. Schwecke, Jr., her granddaughter, Mary Hintzel, her great nephew, Bill Breish, and Robert Parker, Sr. She is survived by her SON: Dr. Robby Parker and wife, Sharon; DAUGHTER: Kathy Fuller and husband, Bill; GRANDCHILDREN: Amber Parker, Ariel Ackerman, Ivy Thomas and husband, Rame, and Martin Fuller and wife, Meghan; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Maggie Jane Parker, Daniel Ackerman, Wren Ackerman, Perry Hintzel, and Evangeline Jane Fuller. Also surviving Joy is her NIECE: Carol Breish; GREAT NEPHEWS: Jonathan Breish, David Breish and wife, Tila, and their families.
