Barbara Ann Ehlert Sorsby Ginn, 72, of Canyon Lake, Texas, went to Heaven on October 14, 2013. Barbara, or "Bobbie" as she was known to friends, was born on February 18, 1941, to parents, Otto Albert Ehlert and Ruth Wendt Ehlert, in Sealy, Texas. Bobbie grew up and attended school in the Pattison area until she moved to Germany. Upon returning to the States, she obtained her GED and attended college at the University of Houston. Bobbie received her Associates degree in Drafting from Lee College in Baytown, Texas. Bobbie was married to Julius S. Ginn on July 4, 1988, at the Ehlert home place in Pattison, Texas. Bobbie loved traveling, Las Vegas being her favorite place to visit. Bobbie and her husband, Julius, traveled from Florida to California, covering the entire stretch of Interstate 10. Her passion was carpentry. It is said that with a saw and some nails, Bobbie could have built anything. She not only drafted the plans for her home in Canyon Lake, she built and installed the cabinets. Bobbie loved to cook homemade bread, play Scrabble with her family and would read just about anything. She will be remembered for her kind heart and her willingness to help anyone in need. Bobbie is survived by her HUSBAND of 25 years: Julius S. Ginn of Canyon Lake, Texas; SISTER: Betty Mathis and her husband, George, of Pattison, Texas; SISTERS-IN-LAW: Blanche Ehlert of Dallas, Texas, Ellen Ehlert of Houston, Texas; BROTHER-IN-LAW: George Roark of Pattison, Texas; STEPCHILDREN: Jay Ginn of Baytown, Texas, Ed Ginn and his wife, Carol, of Granbury, Texas; GRANDCHILDREN: Brandi, Courtney, Zachary, Alyssa; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bobbie has been reunited in Heaven with her parents, Otto "Grandpa Dad" Albert and Ruth "Momma Touche" Wendt Ehlert, first husband, Travis Sorsby, sisters, Lazetta Diemer and her husband, Upton "Bully" Diemer, Maimie Roark, brothers Gilbert "Zoney" Ehlert, Eugene "Bean" Ehlert, and Julius "Boop" Ehlert and his wife, Lorraine. Family received friends Friday, October 18, 2013, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Brookshire, Texas, from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Funeral Service was held Saturday, October 19, 2013, 2:00 P.M., at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Bill Newcomb officiating. Pallbearers for the service were Jay Ginn, Ed Ginn, Trace Mathis, Ted Diemer, Gordon Ehlert, Charles Ehlert. Interment followed in the Pattison Methodist Cemetery in Pattison, Texas. Reception was held after interment from 3:30 P.M. - 5:30 P.M., at the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Department.
