Bunny Sue Schurig-Williamson

November 18, 1947 — September 30, 2013

Bunny Sue (Comstock) Schurig-Williamson was born, the daughter of Rudy and Lucille Comstock, on November 18, 1947, in Orange, Texas. She grew up in Orange and attended Orangefield High School where she graduated in 1965. Bunny began her professional career with H.E. Schurig & Co., a freight forwarding business located in Houston, Texas. From H.E. Schurig & Co. Bunny joined TMT shipping where she changed her career direction to containerized shipping. The experiences Bunny gained, while at TMT shipping, led her to her next professional endeavor, where she spent 10+ years with American President Lines (APL) in Houston, Texas. Bunny was united in marriage to Henry E. "Hank" Schurig Jr. on November 17, 1978, in Orange, Texas. Shortly after their marriage, Hank and Bunny moved to Pattison, Texas, where they made their home to raise their now joined families. After many years, and hours, of fighting the dreaded Houston traffic, for her roundtrip commute to APL, Bunny chose to make a career change and joined Sulzer, in Brookshire, Texas, where she worked for over two decades until she passed. Bunny passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013, peacefully in her sleep while at her residence in Pattison, Texas. She thoroughly enjoyed celebrating holidays, especially the 4th of July, with her family, friends, extended family, and co-workers. She also could spend hours shopping or traveling the countryside sightseeing. Many of her hours spent sightseeing were done in the spring where she loved riding around to look at bluebonnets and the other wildflowers of Texas. Bunny is remembered as a devoted daughter, sister, mother, step-mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, as well as a lady many called a dear friend. On March 23, 2012, Bunny and William "Bill" Williamson were united in marriage in Pattison, Texas.
