MAGGIE SUE COOK KITCHENS was born October 14, 1940, in Temple, Texas, the daughter of Furman and Maggie Lena Broussard Cook. She grew up and attended school in Rogers, Texas, graduating from Rogers High School in 1959. Maggie was united in marriage to James T. Kitchens on September 17, 1960, in Milam County, Texas, in the living room of her girlfriend''s father''s house who was the Justice of the Peace for that county. She and J.T. lived in Texas City, Cypress and Highland before calling Bellville home in 1994. Maggie enjoyed fishing, gardening, all sports, playing the lotto, Cajun music, gambling, napping, going on road trips with her children and riding with J.T. in the rig. She was an excellent cook, known for her chicken fried steak and gravy, homemade ice cream, banana pudding, deviled eggs and stuffed peppers. She also enjoyed making wine and margaritas. Maggie loved her horses, donkey and dogs, especially her beloved dog, Booger. Although she wasn''t a "church-goer," Maggie was a Christian who had read the Bible from cover to cover. She was known to her friends in the bottom as a very quiet, simple lady. But when it came to J.T., she always kept him straight, and he knew that when she called his name he better straighten up. His response was always, "Yes, Mama". Maggie passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013, in Bryan, at the age of 72. She is survived by her LOVING SOUL MATE AND HUSBAND OF ALMOST 53 YEARS: J.T.
