Jack Boggan

BILLY "JACK" BOGGAN of Bellville, Texas, passed away July 28, 2013, at the age of seventy-seven. Jack was born in Kingsville, Texas to parents, Rivers Strauss and Margaret Nix Boggan. After graduating from Falfurrias High School, he went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science Degree in General Engineering from Texas A&I in 1964. Although he was only a few credits shy of a Master''s Degree, he mastered being a Mechanical Engineer in the natural gas and pipeline industry. On June 23, 1956, Jack married the love of his life, Evelyn Schier, in Falfurrias, Texas. Jack was a licensed professional engineer for the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and a member of the National Rifle Association, The Pipeliners Association of Houston, Stephen F. Austin History Society of San Felipe, and the Texas Natural Gas Association. He will be remembered for singing karaoke, fishing, hunting, camping, and barbequing for his family. Jack is survived by his WIFE of 57 years: Evelyn Schier Boggan; DAUGHTERS: Lisa Menke and her husband, Matt, of Bellville, Lynda Murski and her husband, Darrell, of Brenham, Jacque Fenster and her husband, Bret, of Denton; SONS: Jeff Boggan of Houston, and John Boggan and his wife, Shannon, of Pattison; BROTHER: Joe Boggan; GRANDCHILDREN: James Griffin and his wife, Stephanie, Carrie Poffenberger and her husband, Marcus, Charles Griffin, Brittany Menke, Mindy Menke, Steven Murski, Ashley Murski, Justin Boggan, Jonah Boggan, Nathan Fenster, Nikolas Fenster, Sean Fenster, Maci Alanis and her husband, Lee; GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Aiden Griffin, Elizabeth Griffin, Lanie Poffenberger, Lily Poffenberger; and many friends and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Bettye Gayle Moore, daughter-in-law, Barbara Boggan, grandchildren, Adriana and Jackson Boggan, and great-grandson, Jeremiah James Poffenberger. Family received friends Tuesday, July 30, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville, Texas. Funeral Service was held Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rusty Griffin officiating. Interment followed the service at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Bellville, Texas. Pallbearers for the service were: John Boggan, Jeff Boggan, James Griffin, Darrell Murski, Steven Murski, and Bret Fenster. Honorary Pallbearers included: Joe Boggan, Matt Menke, Nathan Fenster, Nikolas Fenster, Sean Fenster, and Charles Griffin.
