JAMES "WAYNE" STANLEY was born February 13, 1934, in Zavala, Texas, to Paul Mancil and Opal Wyatt Stanley. He passed away July 5, 2013, in Cypress, Texas, at the age of 79, after a courageous battle with cancer. James is survived by his WIFE of 59 years: Dorine Adell Stanley; CHILDREN: Sheryl Baker and husband, David, and Kim Grimes and husband, Chris, all of Cypress, TX; GRANDCHILDREN: Wade Lynn Baker, Travis Wayne Baker, Justin Grimes and wife Kelly, Kyle Grimes, Josh Allen and Chelsey Marie Stanley; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Austin Baker, Bailey Grimes and Gunner Grimes; BROTHERS: Douglas Stanley and wife, Maridee, of Louisiana, Michael Stanley and wife, Pat, and Kenneth Stanley and wife, Sherry, all of Zavala, TX, James Stanley and wife, Virginia, of Huntsville, TX; SISTERS: Wanda Ward and husband, Roy, of Texarkana, TX, Diane Stanley of Huntington, TX Carolyn Downey of Zavala, TX; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, son, Larry Wayne Stanley, brothers, Junior Stanley and Darwin Stanley, and his sister, Faye Ward. James grew up and attended school in Houston. On March 30, 1954, he married Dorine Adell McDonald in Cypress where they made their home for many years before moving to Huntsville. They returned to Cypress in 2006, where they have made their home since that time. James served his country in the U.S. Army from June 5, 1955 - June 30, 1961, during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, James went to work for Trunkline Gas Company for 16 years. He was then employed as a Superintendent for Nunn and Shumway in the construction business retiring in 1987. James was a talented carpenter. He built their home in Huntsville, and enjoyed refinishing furniture. He enjoyed antiquing and rented booths at antique shows in Round Top, Huntsville and Brenham. James was also an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, traveling and camping. And he was "the best welder in the whole world."
