Dominic Joseph Giametta

DOMINIC JOSEPH GIAMETTA was born February 2, 1945, in Houston, Texas to parents Sam Joseph and Frances (Mangiameli) Giametta. He passed away June 12, 2013, in Houston, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 68. Dominic grew up and attended school in Houston, graduating from St. Thomas High School in 1963. On May 9, 1983, he married the love of his life, Susan Downey, in Houston. He was employed as a Mechanical Engineer working on steam and gas turbines in the energy industry. There is a saying that "If you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life," and Dominic loved his job. Although he was dedicated to his work, Dominic loved to spend time entertaining family and friends, especially with his sense of humor. He enjoyed cooking his family's favorite, Italian sausage, almost as much as he loved eating. And he loved the beach. He is survived by his WIFE of thirty years: Susan D. Giametta of Brookshire, Texas; DAUGHTERS: Christine Giametta Coats of Katy, Texas, Dana Giametta Johnson and husband, Jeremiah, of Richmond, Texas; SONS: Dominic Joseph Giametta, Jr. and wife, Leslee, of Fulshear, Texas, Joseph Patrick Giametta and fiancée, Emily, of Katy, Texas; BROTHER: Leo Luke Giametta of Brookshire, Texas; GRANDCHILDREN: Jordan Matthew Coats, Madison Nicole Coats, Caleb Michael Coats, Dominic Joseph Giametta, III, and Tyler Aaron Giametta. Pallbearers for the service were Jordan Coats, Dominic J. Giametta, Jr., Jeremiah Johnson, Joseph Giametta, Nicholas Cara, and Robert Schmidt, III.
