Dorsel Clifton White

DORSEL CLIFTON WHITE died June 12, 2013, in Christus St. Catherine Hospital in Katy surrounded by his family. He lived in the Brookshire-Pattison area for the last 30 years. He was born in Ward, West Virginia to Ben and Gladys (Barnett) White. In 1949, he moved to Indianapolis. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served four years. He returned to Indiana after his honorable discharge, and on August 12, 1954, he married Phillis May in Plainfield, Indiana. Dorsel was employed by Chevron/Gulf Oil for almost 30 years. In 1974, Gulf Oil transferred him to Corpus Christi, Texas, and then to Houston in 1977. He was a member of Kingsland Baptist Church of Katy and Brookshire Masonic Lodge AF& AM, #1066. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years: Phillis White of Brookshire; three daughters and their husbands: Rochelle and Robert Dodd, Candice and Kim Stone, and Valerie and Mack Wallace, all of Katy; grandchildren: Amy and Neal Craft of Humble, Andrea Flanagan of Cypress, Amber and Scott Lewis of Longview, Michael Stephens of Cypress, Adrianne and Nathan Gregory of Manvel, Kristin Nicolaisen of Austin, Paul Dodd of Houston and Jeremy Dodd of Alvin. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren: Courtney Snow, Megan Rocka, Wade Flanagan, Clifton Flanagan, Remi Stephens, Randi Stephens and Audry Lewis; brothers and sisters-in-law: Keith and Millie White of Wisconsin, Kenneth and Aurora White of Indianapolis, IN and Winston and Linda White of Memphis, TN. Sisters and brother-in-law: Carol and Bill Cossell of Indianapolis, IN, Joyce Myers of Florida and Betty Bruton of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by parents: Ben and Gladys White, brother: Ben White of Michigan, sisters: Pauline Spencer of Indianapolis, Erma Woody of West Virginia, and great grandsons: Jake and Clark Rocka of Humble.
