Roger Lee Buchtien

ROGER LEE BUCHTIEN, 59, passed away on 05 April, 2013 at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, TX. He was born on December 28, 1953 in Bellville, TX to Lee Roy and Marie (Kaliszewski) Buchtien. Roger grew up in Bellville, TX where he graduated from Bellville High School in 1972 and then attended Blinn College in Brenham, TX. After attending college, he worked for several Ford dealerships as a parts manager. In February of 1980, Jo Ann Mantey joined Roger in marriage and they have called Bellville home for the last 33 years of his life. Out of their marriage, two children were born, son, Eric and daughter, Jennifer. Roger was a loving, devoted husband and father. He had such a zest for life, remaining upbeat and positive about everything although, secretly, he was in pain. He loved laughing and telling jokes to make others laugh. Talking about cars, cooking for family and friends or baking for various events were just some of the things Roger enjoyed. He was a wise man and all who knew Roger were fortunate to have met him. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Marie Buchtien; and mother-in-law Joyce Mantey. Roger is survived by his SPOUSE: Jo Ann Buchtien of Bellville, TX; SON and DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Eric and Jane't Buchtien of Shreveport, LA; DAUGHTER: Jennifer Buchtien of Rosenberg, TX; FATHER-IN-LAW: Leon Mantey of Brenham, TX; BROTHER-IN-LAW and SISTER-IN-LAW: Clint and Terry Mantey of Brenham, TX; NIECE and NEPHEW-IN-LAW: Melania and Tracy Lehde and their children, Kyle and Carson of Brenham, TX; NEPHEW: Timothy Mantey of Brenham, TX; NEPHEW: Quint Mantey of Bryan, TX; SPECIAL COUSIN: Darcy Dehnel of Bellville, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; PALLBEARERS include: Eric Buchtien, Darcy Dehnel, Timothy Mantey, Quint Mantey, Tracy Lehde and Jerry Olson.
