EVA DeLEON GOMEZ, 66, of Brookshire, Texas, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, at her home. Eva was born April 19, 1946, in San Benito, Texas. The daughter of Isidoro DeLeon, Sr. and Ramona Cerda DeLeon, she grew up and attended school in Rio Hondo, Texas. Eva moved to Houston, Texas in 1968, where she started her life with Frederico S. Gomez in 1969. Eva and Frederico were married on December 19, 1980, in Houston. Eva was employed at various places as a custodian in the health care industry. She moved to Brookshire in 1986, and has made her home in the Brookshire-Pattison area since that time. She had employed at The Oaks of Brookshire. Eva enjoyed attending church services and crocheting blankets. She is survived by her SON: Rick Gomez and Mercedes Gonzales of Brookshire, Texas; GRANDSON: Xaviar Mata of Falfurrias, Texas; BROTHERS: Ysidoro DeLeon and his wife, Herlinda, of Pattison, Texas, and Gilbert Serda of McAllen, Texas; and numerous other friends and relatives. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Florentino DeLeon, and her husband, Frederico S. Gomez.
