Patricia Perez Schlottman

February 16, 1948 — January 5, 2013

We are gathered here today in memory of Patricia "Patsy" Ann Perez Schlottman, a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and the dearest of friends, to share in the joy and love that she has left in all of our hearts. For everyone here today, who has had the privilege of knowing Patsy, I believe all of us would agree that she was the most beautiful, compassionate, giving, talented and loyal woman you could ever meet. She always put others before herself. She always gave her full attention when you needed her to listen. She was not ever one to judge you but rather accepted you for who you are. There are not enough words to describe how amazing Patsy really was. Patricia Ann Perez Schlottman was born February 16, 1948, in Sealy, Texas. The daughter of Howard Franklin and Helen Bernice Kocurek Perez, she grew up and attended school in the Brookshire/Pattison area. She graduated from Royal High School in 1966. On October 7, 1966, she married William James "Billy" Schlottman in the First United Methodist Church in Brookshire, Texas. They made their home in Brookshire until the mid-1970's, before living in Baytown, Beaumont and Spring and finally calling Brenham home. Patsy had worked as a bank teller in Katy, Baytown and Tomball, before being employed as a vision technician in Spring and Brenham. Her true passion was exploring her creative side and expressing her talents and thoughts through poetry and art. She also loved to cook, bake and sew, and enjoyed gardening and flowers. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she treasured the time she was able to spend with her family. Patsy was a devoted Christian and loved to worship the Lord. She was a kind, gentle person whose presence and beautiful smile could lift your spirits when you were down. Patsy is survived by her HUSBAND: Bill Schlottman of Brenham; CHILDREN: Troy Schlottman and his wife, Julie, of Tennessee, Helen Martin and her husband, T.J., William Schlottman, and Wesley Schlottman and his wife, Michelle, all of Spring; and GRANDCHILDREN: Brailee, Garrett, Jacob, Mason, Tyler, Alexis and Sierra. She is also survived by her BROTHER: Jerry Perez and his wife, Pat; SPECIAL FRIENDS: Gary and Carol Gostecnik; SISTER-IN-LAW: Kathy Schlottman Boyer; and many other dear friends and relatives. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Perez. SPECIAL NOTE FROM WILLIAM (SON): Mom, You know how attached I was to you as I grew up. Heck, there are photos showing me clinging to your leg(s) as proof. You always made me solve my problems with a conversation and prayer. Everything always turned out for the better after one of our talks'. There are so many things I miss about you already. From you always smelling your hands because of a new lotion you have tried to always taste-testing the food as you cooked/prepared it. You were an amazing mother, mentor, friend, and angel here on Earth. I know you have been watching over us since Saturday morning and you are here with us in spirit today as we celebrate your life and accomplishments. I love you and miss you so much, Mom. You are in my thoughts constantly and I am so thankful that I was able to spend the last few days talking to you and holding your hand.
