ALLEN HUSTEDE, 80, of Katy, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012, in a Houston hospital. Allen was born January 14, 1932, in New Bielau, Texas to parents John and Johanna Menis Hustede. He grew up in New Bielau and Henkhaus and later moved to Houston. On June 22, 1957, Allen married Jo Ann Jones at the Pattison United Methodist Church in Pattison, Texas. They have made their home in Katy since 1958. Allen was employed as a shipping clerk for the Ladish Company and Maass Flange and often worked extra jobs to provide the best for his family. After his retirement in 1997, he enjoyed working in grocery stores where he greeted customers and handed out samples. Allen was a Lutheran by faith. He was a hard working man for his entire life. He also enjoyed gardening and working in his yard, dancing and cooking breakfast. He loved watching Bill Gaither, Molly B.'s Polka Party and all of the old country music shows.He was a big fan of the Houston Astros and baseball in general. But most of all, he treasured the time he was able to spend with his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Allen is survived by his WIFE: Jo Ann Hustede of Katy; DAUGHTERS: Vicki Hustede of Fort Worth, Deanda Thoman and her husband, Todd, of Houston, and Kathi Klussmann and her husband, Tim, of Brenham; GRANDCHILDREN: Kaitlyn, Rachel and Brook Klussmann, and Blair and Lauren Thoman; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Louis Hustede and Johnnie Hustede, and sisters: Tillie Noska, Emmie Michalec and Luvie Darilek.
