THELMA LEE COLLIER BELL was born December 20, 1924, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the daughter of Ernest M. and Catherine Collier. Thelma was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She volunteered full-time at her church. After her children were grown, she became the church secretary and held various positions within the church community in Houston. She was a member of the garden club, enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, making quilts, raising flowers and cooking every new recipe there was. Thelma and Al moved to Bellville in 1979, and immediately became involved in the Bellville United Methodist Church. Thelma passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012, in Houston, at the age of 87. She is survived by her CHILDREN: Wesley Bell, of Shoreacres, TX, and Cathey Fickes and her husband, Gary, of Southlake, TX; BROTHER: Howard Collier and his wife, Sandra, of New Braunsfel; GRANDCHILDREN: Chris Fickes, Corey Fickes and his wife, Kacey, and Jenny Fickes, and numerous other family and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Al Bell, of 61 years, parents, sisters, Vivian Harvey and her husband, Earl, and Jennie McIlwain, nephews, Tom Harvey and Charlie Collier.
