LISABETH (BETTY) ANN WARREN HUGGINS, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012, after a courageous battle with a long term illness. Betty was born December 4, 1925, the daughter of Frank and Maurine Patterson Warren in Dallas, Texas. As a young girl, Betty moved with her family to a farm in west Houston. Betty enjoyed horseback riding and related outdoor activities. She graduated from Lamar High School in Houston, TX. Continuing her education, Betty attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and the University of Houston. Betty met her husband, Edward M. Huggins, when he was a student at Rice University. Ed and Betty were married August 28, 1948, and made their home in Fulshear, Texas, where they managed the family ranching business. As a hobby, Betty raised and showed registered dachshunds in the American Kennel Club dog shows. Some of Betty's dogs were also recipients of numerous awards. For many years, Betty and Ed enjoyed their visits to Junction, Texas. In 1974, they moved to Junction, where they were very active in the community and developed many close and lasting friendships. Betty was an active member of the Hill Country and Texas Cattlewomen organizations. Between 1982-1983, she was president of the Hill Country Cattlewomen and served as president of the Texas Cattlewomen between 1984-1985. She also served on various committees of the American National Cattlewomen. In 1986, Betty was honored as the Texas Cattlewomen of the Year. In Junction, Betty served as president of the Daedalian Study Club and she treasured her friendships with other club members. Betty was an active member in the Fulshear United Methodist Church and Junction United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees. A gentle and caring lady with a beautiful smile and bright blue eyes. Betty will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Betty is survived by her DAUGHTER: Carolyn Ann Huggins Michnoff and her husband, David Joel; GRANDCHILDREN: Liane Odessa Michnoff and Alan Edric Michnoff; SISTER: Maureen Warren Poth; BROTHERS: Frank Warren, James Warren and Rush Warren; and many other dear friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ed and sister, Patricia Hall.
