JANIS LYNN POULTER, 50, of Houston, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at her home. Janis was born October 8, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Francis and Doris Nowak Rogers. She grew up and attended school in Midlothian, Virginia, graduating high school in 1979. She then continued her education at the Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned her Associate's Degree. While attending VCU, she was employed as a bank account manager. Janis has made her home in Houston since 1982. On November 6, 2003, she was united in marriage with James Poulter in Houston. Janis loved animals and nature. A very artistic person, she enjoyed arts and crafts, and did wonderful pencil drawings. She loved to make her own greeting and birthday cards on the computer for family and friends, and enjoyed scrapbooking. Janis is survived by her loving HUSBAND OF OVER EIGHT YEARS: James Poulter of Houston, Texas; STEP-DAUGHTER: Jessica Poulter of Kansas City, Kansas; FATHER AND STEP-MOTHER: Frank Rogers and Donna Teeter of Houston, Texas; BROTHER: Mark Rogers and wife, Sandy, of Bumpass, Virginia; FATHER-IN-LAW AND MOTHER-IN-LAW: Jim Poulter and his wife, Margaret, of Pattison,Texas; SISTERS-IN-LAW: Cindy Poulter Murphy and husband, Charles, Phylis Poulter Jones and husband, Crist, of Austin, Texas; GOOD FRIEND: Joe Spangler of Houston, Texas; LITTLE PEOPLE WITH FUR: Tiff and Yukon; and many friends she considered as family. She was preceded in death by her mother and sister, Pam Rogers.
