John Paul Casto

JOHN PAUL CASTO of Katy, passed from his earthly home to join his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 26, 2011. He was 64 years old. John was born January 13, 1947 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The son of Paul Harrison and Eva Jean Beasley Casto, he grew up and attended school in Port Arthur and Nederland. After graduating from Nederland High School, he joined the United States Navy and served his country for eight years during the Vietnam War. After John was honorably discharged, he attended trade school and became a welder working in the petroleum and fabrication industries working for MSI Inc. for 13 years until the company was dissolved. He was then employed by Basic Energy Services for the next 5 years before doing contract welding in the Brookshire/Katy area. John married Vickie Ann Gray on June 17, 2000. They have made their home in Katy. John was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Brookshire never missing a Sunday unless he was too ill to attend. An avid gardener and outdoorsman, John loved gardening, particularly organic gardening and he enjoyed fishing and hunting as a young man. In recent years, he enjoyed feeding the deer and spending time with Vickie at their East Texas farm. He is survived by HIS WIFE: Vickie Casto of Katy; DAUGHTERS: Trisha Casto and children, Evie Parker and children and Kathryn "Kathy" Jordan; SON: Corbett McAlister and his wife, Halee; GRANDCHILDREN: Marlin "Waldo" Jordan, Brittney "Stomper" Jordan, Deandra "DeDe" Jordan, James "J.D." Jordan, Debra "Tweety Bird" Jordan, Bailey "Curley" McAlister and Kailey McAlister; ADOPTED GRANDSON: Jason Oliver; BROTHER: Bill Casto and his wife, Pam, of Corpus Christi; and many other dear friends and relatives.
