Deborah Irene Ricks

DEBBIE RICKS, 55, of Brookshire, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011, in a Houston hospital from health complications. Debbie was born to Howard and Pauline Jenkins Spaulding on April 30, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended school in San Antonio and graduated from Highlands High School in 1974. While in high school, Debbie met and became very fond of Michael Ricks. While continuing her education at San Antonio Community College, Debbie became engaged to Michael on April 1, 1976. They were united in marriage on October 30, 1976. Together they made their home in Brookshire and were members of the First United Methodist Church of Brookshire. Debbie was an active member of the cub scouts and later boy scouts as a den mother and a cub master. She was also a leader in the Royal PTA and Band Boosters. She is survived by her HUSBAND, Michael Ricks, SONS: Christopher Ricks and his wife, Gina, of Katy, Steven Ricks and his wife, Lauren, also of Katy; GRANDCHILDREN: Alexander and Katherine Ricks, BROTHER: Albert Spaulding; NIECE: Shannon Dominguez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Pauline. Debbie was dearly loved by many and we will all miss her very much. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Brookshire with Reverend Charles Jordon officiating.
