Melvin Jones

Melvin Jones was born February 7, 1926, in Raymondville, Missouri, the son of B.F. and Minnie (Nelson) Jones. He passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, at his home in Bellville, Texas. Melvin was involved in many civic projects including, the youth center on the square, the senior center, and president of the Methodist men at the Bellville United Methodist Church. He was in business with Stewart and Stevenson services selling rotary tables that they manufactured for him for over 20 years. Melvin was united in marriage to Mildred; they have been married for 66 years. Melvin is survived by his WIFE, Mildred Jones, of Bellville; NEPHEWS: Dwight Carter and his wife, Laura, of Cat Spring, Rodney Carter and his wife, Sherry, of Dallas, and Ed Mitchell and his wife, Terry, of Seabrook. He is also survived by numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Jones, father, B.F. Jones, mother, Minnie Nelson Jones, three sisters and two brothers. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Amy Haralson, Officiating.
