Elfriede Przybyla

ELFRIEDE MARIA SCHMIETANA PRZYBYLA was born June 14, 1920, in Beuthen, Germany to parents Marceli and Petronella Prochotta Schmietana. She passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011, in Brookshire, Texas, at the age of 91. Elfriede's profession was Kindergarten teacher. During World War II when times were harsh, she held different jobs including working with the Red Cross, but her passion was always working with children. She married Georg Przybyla on July 12, 1944, in Swientochlowitz, Germany, and they had four children. Elfriede always worked very hard to make life better for her family. She was active even into her 90's, until she broke her femur and her hip. Elfriede had a strong faith in God and we know that she is now with her Lord. She always tried to make someone else's life better with a smile, warm greetings or a hot meal. She treated everyone with respect and kindness. Elfriede was an example of the Living Word. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. She treasured the time she was able to spend with her beloved family celebrating the birth of Christ! She loved gardening, reading and traveling. Elfriede always said, "There are so many places to see, and so much to learn in this world." We are so very thankful that she was part of our lives. She was the best mother, mentor, teacher, friend and family holder. We will miss you every day. God Bless! Bis God!
