Ora Nell Kohler

ORA NELL KOHLER, of Pattison, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011, in a Katy hospital at the age of 93. Ora Nell was born August 1, 1917, in Booth, Texas, the middle daughter of Fritz and Martha Hacker Severin. She grew up in Booth, TX, before relocating with her family to their farm along the Brazos River near San Felipe. There, she met the love of her life, Walter R. Kohler, and they were united in marriage on August 14, 1935. Alongside her husband, they worked the land, raised cattle, tended the garden, and many other chores involved in a working family farm. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Ora Nell loved her family dearly and treasured her time spent with them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always seemed to keep her entertained and young at heart. She was an avid gardner, and when passing by her house, you would often see her working in the yard,even at 93 years young. She will always be remembered for her gentle nature, friendly smile and kind heart. She is survived by her CHILDREN: Charles W. Kohler, Sr., and his wife, Mae Dell, of Pattison, Dorothy Kohler Hein and her husband, Charles, of Brookshire; GRANDCHILDREN: Andrea Kohler Hopkins and her husband, Mike, of Austin, Chuck Kohler of Pattison, David Kohler and his wife, Sherry, of Brazos Country, Beverly Kohler Haynes and her husband, Robert, of Houston, Brandon Hein and his wife, Stephanie, of La Porte, Jennifer Hein Colbert and her husband, Daniel, of Pattison; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Christopher Hopkins, Trey Kohler, Jessica Kohler, Kelli Kohler, Justin Kohler, Cody Kohler, Rachel Kohler, Taylor Lancoln, Ricky Lancoln, Kaitlyn Haynes, Baylee Hein, Kaelyn Hein, Alyssa Colbert and many other dear friends and relatives. Ora Nell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters, Hildegard Richter, May Dell Schulte, and brother, J.A. "Sonny" Severin.
