Ruth Elaine Marshall

RUTH ELAINE DIEMER MARSHALL passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011, in a Katy hospital at the age of 61. Ruth was born October 1, 1949, in Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas to parents Brick Upton Diemer, Sr. and Lasetta Ehlert Diemer. She grew up and attended school in Brookshire. A 1968 graduate of Royal High School, Ruth then attended Blinn College in Brenham. On July 16, 1977, she married Henry Thomas Marshall in Brookshire. Ruth and Henry lived in the Katy/Brookshire area for a short time before making their home in the house that Ruth's mother and grandfather built in 1964. Henry Thomas preceded Ruth in death on February 19, 1997. A member of Believers Baptist Church in Pattison, Ruth was very outgoing and funny, and loved children, even though she never had any of her own. She is survived by her BROTHERS: Brick Upton Diemer, Jr. of Bellville and Ted Diemer and his wife, Debbie, of Brookshire; SISTER: Leda D. Sturm and her husband, Lynn, also of Brookshire; NIECES AND NEPHEWS: Neal Diemer and his wife, Tamara, of Sealy, Candi Stilts of Brookshire, Nicole Canales and her husband, Eddie, of Pattison, Kim Newman and her husband, Randy, of Katy; Brick Morris Diemer and his wife, Lisa, of Houston, Brad Diemer and wife, Ann, of Arizona; GREAT NEPHEWS: Mason, Lawson, Zachary, Coleson, Jack, Conner, Tanner, Logan and Carter; GREAT NEICES: Morgan, Madison, Sydney, Hannah Jo, and Eden; UNCLES: R.V. Dixon, George Roark, Julius Ginn and George Mathis; AUNTS: Ellen Ehlert, Blanche Ehlert, Bobbie Ginn and Betty Mathis; other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Body will lie in state from 5-7 P.M., Wed., May 25, 2011, at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Brookshire. Funeral Service will be held at 10 A.M., Thurs., May 26, 2011, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kevin Everett officiating. Burial will follow in the Pattison Methodist Cemetery.
