EDDIE ERLEENE RAPSILVER MAYBERRY, 86, lifelong resident of the Brookshire-Pattison area, passed away Friday, April 15, 2011, in a Katy hospital. Eddie was born December 13, 1924, in Pattison, Texas. The daughter of Edwin and Ellen Smith Rapsilver, she grew up in Pattison and attended school in Katy. After graduating from Katy High School, Eddie earned her Bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State Teachers College and her Master's degree from Prairie View A&M University. She married H.D. Mayberry on June 16, 1946, in Brookshire. They made their home in Brookshire where Eddie taught school in the Royal Independent School District for 35 years before her retirement. They were members of the First Baptist Church. She was active in her church and an avid reader. She enjoyed volunteering, and she especially treasured the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. Eddie is survived by her SON: Ed Mayberry and his wife, Kim, of Katy; DAUGHTERS: Lou Ellen Elliott and her husband, Ron, of Huntsville and Nancy Costilow, also of Huntsville; GRANDCHILDREN: Sara Momberg and her husband, Brian, of Austin, Rebecca Sievert and her husband, Warren, of Huntsville, Matthew Terry and his wife, Amber, of Austin, Luke Costilow of Huntsville, Justin Mayberry of Katy, and Zachary Mayberry, also of Katy; SISTERS: Dorothy Griffin of Brookshire and Lila Thompson and her husband, Stanley, of Richmond; and many other relatives and dear friends. Eddie was precededed in death by her parents, her husband, H.D. Mayberry, her daughter, Jane Mayberry, and a sister, Katherine Rapsilver.
