Vineta Valeria Mitcham

May 4, 1918 — January 22, 2011

VINETA VALERIA MITCHAM was born May 4, 1918, in Hopewell, Kansas, the daughter of Scott Webster Gifford and Ethel Adline Cross. She came to Texas as a young child. Her family lived in several Texas towns. She met and married John Ricks Mitcham in 1934. During their marriage they lived and worked on several ranches and rice farms. In 1961, they moved to Cedar Creek and made their home there. In 1985, John passed away and she later moved back to Pattison to be near her family. She has made her home at The Oaks of Brookshire Nursing Facility since 2008. Vineta loved gardening, sewing, quilting, reading and her puzzles. She enjoyed having her family around her and cooking large dinners for them. She is survived by DAUGHTERS: Eppie Ethel Kostak and husband, Anton, Mary Neuman and husband, Eddie; GRANDCHILDREN: Mark Neuman and wife, Lisa, Michael Neuman and wife, Caren, Dennis Kostak and wife, Diana, Janet Pollack and husband, Glenn, Theresa Macha and husband, Kenneth; GREAT GRANCHILDREN: Kelli, Emily and Samuel Neuman, Travis and Clinton Pollack and Cameron Macha; GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILD: Dirk Wilkening; STEP-GRANCHILDREN: Erica Holliday and Jennifer Wilkening; SISTER: Thelma Woodruff; SISTER IN LAW: Polly Gifford and many other dear friends and relatives.
