Harold E. Lyons,

Harold E. Lyons, Sr. was born August 5, 1932, in Bellville, Texas, the son of John Henry and Dora Estelle Felps Lyons. He grew up and attended school in Bellville. At the age of 17, Harold joined the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years of serving his country. Harold then went to work for Volkswagen of America and Porsche/Audi for several years in Houston. Later, he began teaching in Brookshire at Royal ISD as an auto mechanics instructor retiring after over 20 years of service, and then became a substitute teacher in the Bellville ISD. Harold was united in marriage to Gloria Foytik on February 2, 1953, in Lucedale, Mississippi. He enjoyed deer hunting and treasured the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harold passed away on December 1, 2010, at the age of 78, at his home in Gallup, New Mexico. He is survived by his WIFE OF OVER 57 YEARS: Gloria Lyons of Gallup, New Mexico; CHILDREN: Harold "Buddy" Lyons, Jr. of Bellville and Susan Smith of Gallup, New Mexico; GRANDCHILDREN: Kevin Lyons of Bellville, Scott Gagne of Dallas, Bryan Gagne of Rockwall, JuAun Burgess of Rockwall, Laura Lyons, Tammy Holmes, Sherry Glueck, Becky Fojtek and Patty Wright; all of Bellville. Also surviving Harold are his 14 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND SISTER: Jean Holt of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Graveside Service: 2:00 P.M.
